We all know that the flavor of fried chicken often towers over that of the taste of baked chicken. So, first on the list is a recipe that still allows that crispy texture, along with the delicious fried flavor, while still cutting down on the calorie and fat consumption.

 

Ingredients:

Preparation:

Rinse the chicken breasts under cold running water. Place them on a plate and set aside. (Make sure not to dry them off)

Chicken breasts that are ready to be baked.

On a second plate, mix together cornmeal, salt and pepper (to your liking), one teaspoon of garlic powder, one teaspoon of onion powder and roll each breast in the mixture. Remember to shake each piece as to remove any excess cornmeal that may be hanging on.

Coat the chicken in breadcrumb mixture.

Place the chicken onto your baking dish. Then place the chicken breasts in the fridge for about an hour.

Coated chicken breasts ready to go in the oven.

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.

Bake for forty minutes to an hour or until the chicken is crispy and cooked all the way through. You may cut into the thickest piece in order to ensure that it is completely done or use a cooking thermometer.
